Lisa Varchol Perron

Lisa Varchol Perron writes picture books, middle grade novels, and poetry for children. Her poems have appeared in children's magazines, online poetry journals, and anthologies, and she earned the Boston Authors Club Discovery Award for picture book writers. She lives outside of Boston with her geologist husband and two book-loving kids.

Lisa is represented by Tricia Lawrence of Erin Murphy Literary Agency.

I spent my early years in Pennsylvania and Ohio, where my favorite activities were reading, playing soccer, and making up stories that I'd beg my sister to perform with me.

I studied theatre in college and worked as an actor in New York City before moving to California for graduate school.

At UC Berkeley's School of Social Welfare, I specialized in Children and Families and then became a licensed psychotherapist. I currently have a private practice in eastern Massachusetts.

Over the years, reading has offered me comfort, sparked my curiosity, and inspired me to learn and grow. I hope I can offer some of the same to the kids (and grown-ups!) who read my books and poems.
